Look at this big woodpecker!

When I returned home from my adventure with Anna today, there in my neighbor's yard on his tree was this huge woodpecker. I just had to get my camera.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog. I can't say tatting is easy to learn although if you crochet, it does help with tensioning the thread. Most people have stories involving the frustration of learning the "flip" which is what the thread has to do to make the knot slide on the core thread. The book by Janette Baker, Learn How to Tat has a DVD with it and is very good. Any way you can actually see the process is better than trying to learn from a book alone. Baker's book is available online for $14.95 and also at Hobby Lobby & Michael's Crafts if you have a store near you. Georgia Seitz also has an ongoing online beginner's class (free) which you can sign up for at http://georgiaseitz.com/

You're in NC but there is a great group in SC, Palmetto Tatters who might be able to hook you up with someone close to you.
